RENO, Nev. – VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) is excited to begin its first public-private partnership with DayaMed on a medication management pilot program. The pilot program with the northern Nevada company will assist local Veterans who have multiple prescriptions and struggle with medication management.

Dr. Amneet Rai, VASNHCS Associate Chief of Pharmacy for Health Outcomes & Analytics, is leading the research that will use DayaMed’s artificial intelligence combined with multiple real-time sensors and engagement devices, like a smart phone, to improve patient clinical outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and ensure Veterans are properly taking their medications. “Integrating technology with health care is about improving the quality of life for our Veterans,” stated Dr. Rai. “This year-long pilot program will give us the data to improve on this already great technology.”

“Working with VA in hopes that our medication management solution will help Veterans and others with dementia, or complex medical conditions that require multiple medications is about improving lives on a very intimate level. It means that they can live longer independently. The hope is that the success of this pilot program will spread the use of our solution to other VA medical centers and beyond,” said Justin Daya, DayaMed CEO. “The DayaMed team is ready and proud to serve our Veterans.”

VASNHCS is looking for Veterans to take part in the pilot program who are currently living with diabetes and other complex medical conditions that require multiple medications. If you are a Veteran currently receiving VA health care and are interested in participating in the DayaMed pilot program, please call the VASNHCS Research Department at (775) 789-6680 and speak with Justine Mansfield. For media questions, please contact Glenna Smith, Public Affairs Officer at (775) 842-4835 or email: Glenna.Smith2@va.gov.
