VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System

Volunteer or Donate

The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System benefits greatly from the good will of our benefactors and volunteers who wish to give something back to America's heroes.

Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and help make our patients' stay more enjoyable. Volunteers can perform a number of services, and a volunteer's talents are closely matched with one of our many assignments.  (Note: Volunteer needs vary from facility to facility, these are a sampling.  Please contact us to discuss our current volunteer needs.)

To volunteer, call or visit the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System Voluntary Service Office. We will be happy to receive your application or discuss how you can help us in our mission to provide comfort and care to America's veterans.

Cash donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our veteran patients, including —

  • hygiene products
  • refreshment supplies
  • recreational activities
  • care and comfort items and equipment not provided through appropriated funds
  • emergency funds for homeless and indigent veterans

Non-cash contributions are used to make our patients' stay more enjoyable. Items which are accepted include —

  • magazines
  • new clothing, such as winter coats (seasonal), sweat suits, socks, and underwear
  • telephone cards
  • personal size toiletry items

To make a cash or non-cash contribution, please contact the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System Voluntary Service, as needs for our veterans change frequently.
